The National Health Sector Strategic Plan 2010-2015 details the health policy of the government. It aims to make health services available, accessible and affordable to all people, especially for mothers, children and the poor. The plan describes three key priority areas including:
- To move progressively towards universal coverage for mothers and infants;
- To reduce the burden of communicable and non-communicable diseases and
- To improve the quality of services.
